Whereas the
Simple Building Energy Model (SBEM) uses monthly weather data, the Dynamic Simulation Modeling (DSM) software uses hourly
weather data to deliver an accurate, in depth thermal model of your building. The information produced can be accessed by zone,
zone group or even individual rooms. As well as being utilised for EPC and Part L assessment purposes, the DSM has the flexibility
and level of input for use as a building services and building envelope design tool.
The
thermal Models produced allow us to compare alternative heating and cooling strategies, building fabrics, glazing parameters,
space usage models and plant installations to analyse comfort levels, equipment sizing, energy demand and compliance requirements.
DSM allows us to model heating, cooling and ventilation plant, night time cooling, day lighting, solar gains and natural ventilation,
outputting hourly activity and load profiles for these as required.
